The military at this point is preparing for war by remote; I don’t believe politicians will be putting “boots on the ground” in any numbers any time soon - or ever again. Much of the military is just a jobs program now - and used to protect the occupied capital when an election is stolen from the American voters.

Yeah, people have said that since the end of WWII. It has not worked out that way. Methinks you will always need to put boots on the ground, until you have humanoid robots that be controlled via telepresence with unjammable comm links.
