Two California teenagers who admitted to beating their classmate to death have been sentenced to probation.
In September 2019, the teens attacked 13-year-old Diego Stolz in the yard of Landmark Middle School.
Cellphone video showed Stolz being punched repeatedly before falling and hitting his head on a pillar.

Bonasera : I went to the police, like a good American. These two boys were brought to trial. The judge sentenced them to three years in prison, and suspended the sentence.
Suspended sentence! They went free that very day!
I stood in the courtroom like a fool, and those two bastards, they smiled at me.
Then I said to my wife, "For justice, we must go to Don Corleone."

If I were the dad, there is no pathway that doesn’t include me going to prison.

The defendants each spent 47 days in juvenile hall and Luebs said he felt locking them up with adult criminals would be harmful
It wasn't that long ago that tis would put any Juvenile into Chino Boys Prison til you were 21 and maybe 25.

Further video shows the perpetrator running over to the victim — who has now fallen and hit his head — and then punching him again while he’s down on the ground. So clearly more than one unlucky punch. It also looks like the attacker was black, which I don’t recall reading in the article.

Murder is the unlawful taking of a human life.
Type of planning, or not, forethought and such determine the level of a murder.

To be clear, in most states “murder” is the unlawful taking of a human life.
Post 26, please.

Yeah, I was trying to distinguish between actually *intending to kill* and doing something so reckless that it would be ruled negligent homicide but didn’t do it clearly.
That was before I read the description of the punch given after the victim had fallen.
If we have a problem putting seriously criminal teens in adult prisons, maybe we need to consider facilities for them.

Thank you for being a sensible person rather than jumping on the outrage bandwagon. The were boys in a school fight. I think anyone who grew up before the snowflake era remembers school yard fights and bullies. These are just kids and shit went waaaay wrong! If anyone on this site has been in a middle school fight, I hope they think they should have been locked away forever as well and turn themselves in ASAP.

PS: I had a spinal surgery in middle school.... A girl cornered me in the bathroom and pushed me against the wall saying I was faking for attention and to hide a plastic surgery, and just generally bully hate spewing.... I could have been left quadriplegic or died had I hit that wall slightly wrong... But I do not believe she should have lost her whole life because of being a dumb kid! I think living with the guilt as a child is enough punishment... If anything order these kids counseling and help them deal with the trauma so they don't go down a darker path already thinking they are bad evil people “so why does it matter”

The boy was killed in Riverside County...Riverside County DA wanted the judge to order those two guys to serve more time...But,the judge refused to do so...

“CA Youth Authority facility in Chino is closed...”
That would be the Heman G. Stark Juvenile Prison, now part of the Chino men’s prison. It was named after a childhood friends Grandfather. I’m not sure how he got the distinction.

Yeah I know, we had lots of Juvenile Camps and such throughout SoCal and I think all of them are closed down now, not sure about the one in Malibu Canyon, I see activity when I drive trough. but almost all are closed down to make sure we have a fresh supply of real criminals emboldened by the State to practice their chosen profession,
