Teacher’s unions wield outsized political power in many countries (the USA and Mexico as well). They were early targets of Communist infiltration/organization. Within months of the October Revolution in Russia, that brought the Bolsheviks to power, their consulate in New York City was active in organizing American teachers, to promote their propaganda, and as foot soldiers in domestic political campaigns.
The NEA, whose members typically cast one out of every eight votes in the Democratic Party’s National Conventions, are a leading member of Education International - clearly named in reference to the now defunct Communist International.
Yes, schools are there to indoctrinate kids into being subservient Leftists. And, they do a good job. Disappointing that the GOP has allowed this to progress over the past 30 to 40 years. If I were President, it would be a top priority in the first 100 days to do everything and anything to promote school competition and choice, even if it meant one term, it's that important.
