Florida naked woman rescued from storm drain after unknown length of time

A naked Florida woman was rescued from a Delray Beach storm drain Tuesday after becoming trapped for an unknown length of time, authorities said.

Crews dropped a ladder and harness down the drain to lift her out after a passerby heard someone calling for help from below.

The storm drain is about eight feet deep, local authorities said.

Only a pair of scuffed, bloody knees can be seen of the victim before she’s loaded onto a stretcher en route to a hospital for medical treatment.

But after the rescue, authorities learned she had been missing for weeks, the Sun Sentinel reported. It’s unclear how long she was trapped – or what happened to her clothes.

"She was lucky," Delray Beach Fire Rescue spokesperson Dani Moschella told the paper. "I don’t know how much longer she would have been OK down there. The idea that somebody might be down there for any length of time is disturbing. It’s dirty, dangerous, there’s snakes, rats, garbage, dirt and leaves, anything that’s on the street that washes into a sewer, and it smells terrible."

So we couldn’t fix that without shutting down the hospitals and turning the patients loose? Almost all chronic homelessness involves mental illness and/or drug abuse. They need to be restrained and treated.

From what I’ve seen of the chronically homeless, it’s a chicken -or-egg thing with the drug/alcohol abuse and mental illness. It’s striking how many have violent events in their past...murder or suicide of loved ones.

Mental illness/brain damage go hand in hand with drug abuse. You can’t abuse drugs at that level without losing your mind at least after a while.

And that is why I am reluctant to get the covid vax. I almost died from penicillin, twice, before the doc figured out that is how he nearly killed me. I didn’t eat for a week and didn’t drink anything for three days. They put me in hospital and pumped me full of fluids. This happened again a few months later. The first time they thought it was my illness that caused my throat to swell shut. The second time they figured out it was the penicillin. Our three kids have had similar reactions to other drugs. There have been cases of anaphylactic shock to covid vax. So I will wait until I am forced to take it, then will be sure to be next to a fully equipped hosptial emergency room...
