At under 50 feet you are right keyhole probably makes no difference. My 10.5” 6.5 grendal on the other hand with a 1:6 twist shoots single hole groups at 100m looking like 3 leaf clovers at worst off the bench with 140gr nosler Brown tips. The only reason I shoot 140s is I also load them into my 6.5 creedmoor AR10 which with the 24” stainless helical flutes is also a tac driver. The smaller grendal is my go to deer stand gun it’s handy and laser beam accurate too 200m which is twice what the sight lines are at the lease.

I like 6.5 but I'm way too far invested in .308 at this point to justify making the switch. I have an Armalite AR10 with the 24" barrel in .308 and it too is a tack driver. I shot this at just under 100 yards using, IIRC, 42 grains of Varget, a 168 grain VMAX, and FLR Lake City once fired brass using Forster dies at all stages. I shot several of them that day but I only recovered two and I can't find either of them.
