I love my 12.5” 308 it’s light and handy in bear country wear it Rhodesia sling style three point across the chest hands free hanging. 220 gr woodleigh steel jacket round nose at just under 1800 fps will penetrate and exist a bruin from any angle and stem to stern face on. I also have a 16” 308 upper that was my stand gun until that little 6.5 grendal stole my heart. Most Texas deer are sub 200lbs and the 6.5 140gr8 knocks flat right where they stand usually if I neck shootem. I always aim for the high neck shot break the spine they drop like a sack of taters.
