Captured live after the shooter killed a couple in the parking lot.

No viewer discretion needed. It’s not graphic in the slightest.
“I’m a journalist” needs to learn how to focus his camera. Wonder whether his friend trying to reach him from inside survived. “I’m a journalist” chose to ignore his friend’s call for 15 minutes of fame.
“Wonder whether his friend trying to reach him from inside survived.”
Video comments say his friend’s first name matched one of the dead.
Why are the ones sworn to serve and protect milling around?
Could they have reduced the body count?
Is the dead LEO the only one with balls?
That idiot had no idea how close to dying he was. He was literally standing in the stores open doorway discussing the shooting with people who were also standing in the doorway with their backs to the store, discussing the shooting....All this while the shooter was still inside shooting. It’s clearly picked up on the audio.
30 minutes after the shooting, there must have been 400 cops standing around. By the time swat setup and all the troops arrived, it was looong over.
Lots of police milling about with weapons.
Saw two officers going up to a door, they hear shots, they turn around and go back to the corner of the building.
It is as if they know nothing of modern active shooter protocol, which is: go in. Go in fast, seconds are lives.
Do. Not. Wait.
“go in”
I noticed that as well.
It was at least an hour before the shooter was apprehended.
I always figured that a badge, a vest and an AR-15 required one to charge the gunfire.
Lets clarify that for the record.
We know there is a cop laying dead and the suspect had a hole in him. We know at least one cop who went in and paid big. Likely others were closing in along with the dead cop.
And btw, after the exchange of fire, after the first in cop was shot, the rest of the cavalry might have been ordered to hold back for swat. I’m not saying this is the best call, I’m just sayin.
Ya gotta sign in. Google owns youtube. Ferget it.

It is possible. We do not know.
The doctrine is do not wait around.
Your job involves risk.
This is part of it.
You bet, and one paid the big price in this case.
Btw, I was commenting on what we do know at this point. That is why I added, It was *possible* after the cop was shot the rest of the responders were told to hold back for swat. I'd guess they had no idea what they were dealing with and they already had one dead cop. Could the lightly protected uniforms deal with this? Or did they opt to tell everyone to hold back for swat? I dunno.☺
I see cops arriving on scene and they're seeing dead bodies in the parking lot, dead bodies on the ramp to the entrance, dead bodies inside the entry doors...Now a dead cop...I'd guess the commander or whoever was in charge is listening to all this via radios, and saying oh chet! Did he tell everyone to hold for swat? I don't know.
Lots we do not know.
But, the lessons learned from Columbine and Parkland were supposed to result in a very fast response.
The troops are not supposed to wait on orders or form more than a quick battle plan.
“Why are the ones sworn to serve and protect milling around?...”

Not the most courageous group of cops, that’s for sure. A truthful reconstruction might find that people inside were being shot while the timid cops pondered what to do. And people (including the deceased cop) may have bled out inside during their “golden hour” while the cops dawdled.
Police were asking him to move back but he fired back with, “I am a journalist.” Who cares if the clown is a journalist? He was a distraction to the police when they were involved with a life and death situation. The police didn’t know if it was a lone shooter. They need to opportunity to think clearly without some clown with a cell phone videoing. Anyone and everyone could call themselves a journalist.
Well that was my point up thread. They didn’t initially sit back and wait. There is a dead cop. No? There was a reasonably fast response and one cop paid the big price when he went in. I would suspect it was a uniform patrol cop who had light protection. He he could have been the one who shot and injured the suspect. Regardless, he went in and died doing his job. I’m not going to fault someone like that or imply they didn’t do their job. Not in this case.
Neither am I. That was the whole point.
There seemed to be a lot of police milling around, with their primary concern of securing the parking lot.
Hopefully, we will find out (probably in about a year) what actually happened.
