I know this is off topic but.....I checked the weather map on the computer this morning and the worst will almost reach us but not quite.

We live in a really deep valley with high hills on both sides that sort of protect us. One is in front of us prior to I-75 and the other is behind us between us and the TN River. Storms struggle to get over either one. If they come up the valley we are screwed. Our house is a 70-year old farm house that was built from red oak cut on the farm so it's sturdy. Here are two pics from my front yard and you can see what I mean. There is a creek that runs the middle of the valley and has plenty of room to flood without getting even close to the house since it sits on the side of the hill. The big brick in the second picture is my closest neighbor except for my daughter and SIL. They live on the farm.

That’s a beautiful view there on the farm! Slightly envious, in a way, but also happy to be on my modest acre (with a 161,000 volt power line crossing the far end of it). I really should do a little gardening on my land, since I have so much of it (relatively speaking).

Anyway, regarding the weather, we got the latest update earlier this morning from our meteorologist at work. The severe stuff will be centered over the northern border of Mississippi and Alabama, and the south-central part of Tennessee. Less severe, and less risk as you move northeast from there. Chattanooga, Nashville, Memphis all lie on the outer edge of moderate risk, but as you head north, the risk drops.

doesn’t mean that there won’t be any weather - some thunderstorms just passed over my area in the last hour or so - but the severity drops as you move away.

The high risk area has a fair chance of tornadoes, so anybody in AL. MS, or south-central TN keep your eyes peeled.

That’s a gorgeous place. Prayers that you don’t get flooded out.
