Agreed. Cantrell and Chains were probably the most real of the grunge. They grew up in blue collar Burien WA, my best friend up n Seattle went to high school with them. He said they were every bit of their music in real life. Would probably tell Page and plant to sod off before kicking their limey arses and taking their smack.
Best grunge vocalist, the late great Chris Cornell, had way more soul and tension in his voice than Page. Come on man, The Honey drippers? Really? Loved his work with Audioslave as well.
Liked Pearl Jam too, but I think they are the Charles Emerson Winchester III of grunge....so ostentatious and better than us mere mortals. Maybe like the Led Zep of grunge.
