Ike was from Kansas. Patton made a quip about the British conquering Kansas or some such thing when he was peeved about Eisenhower favoring Montgomery’s plans. That’s how I remember that little bit of trivia.
Eisenhower was born in Sherman Texas. He was not native to Kansas.
