I had written at the top that the song begins at about the 7:30 mark, but that 5:40 was a good lead in.

I wrote:

“Jump to the 5:40 mark in this 11-min video. It’s where Merle’s son Marty talks for a minute or so about his late grandmother (Merle’s mother) before he sings Merle’s hit “Mama’s Hungry Eyes”. The song begins at about the 7:30 mark and continues to the end of the 11 minute video. The entire video is good, but I wanted the MH fans among us to see and hear how much his son Marty looks and sounds likes him.”

Partner, BTW these are great pics of one of my favorite C&W singers of all time.

I just loved the song that his son sang "Mama's Hungry Eyes".

We all know that God took their Dad to be singing up there but Merle Haggard did a great job as a father to his boys.

Merle had a great C&W band!!!

About 6:35 or so, he said this about his dad and his grandma Mama Haggard:

“She taught me the same things she taught him. He went to prison; I didn’t, so, definitely was his fault, okay? (laughs)”

“Gramdma never did give up on him. She kept lovin’ him and kept prayin for him and he finally made it. She went to her Grace so proud of her boy.”
