The COVID-19 vaccine did not factor in the death of a West Point woman whose passing days after getting her second inoculation shot prompted questions from her family, according to health officials.
The Utah Department of Health and the Office of Medical Examiner, or OME, issued a statement Thursday saying it had investigated the deaths of people who had recently taken the vaccine. After conducting the probes, the statement said, investigators found no links between the vaccine and any deaths.
“The OME has determined there have been NO DEATHS caused by the COVID-19 vaccines to date in Utah. The OME is committed to investigating any deaths that fall under its jurisdiction where decedents had recently received the COVID-19 vaccine,” the statement read.
The death last month of Kassidi Kurill of West Point after her second and final COVID-19 vaccination shot has prompted coverage in some Utah media outlets, including the Standard-Examiner, but the statement didn’t single out any specific cases due to privacy laws. Perhaps in light of the attention the Kurill case received, though, state health officials went on in the statement, touting the safety of the COVID-19 vaccines. “The COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective.....”
Kurill’s death on Feb. 5, four days after getting her second and final COVID-19 vaccination shot, prompted concerns from her family that the vaccine factored in her passing. She was 39 and otherwise healthy, according to Al Hawley, her stepfather.
Hawley on Thursday declined comment on the news from the Utah Department of Health and OME, citing the sometimes critical public response sparked by news reports about his stepdaughter’s passing. Medical information is private so long as it doesn't impact public health. Your individual curiosity as to what caused a particular person's death does not override their right and the family's right to medical privacy. According to the people actually investigating the case and examining the body of the deceased, there was no vaccine related issue present. So yes, we should move on. Speculation on conspiracy blogs is not probably cause to freak out and panic.
yes, I’m going to go with drug use. It appears the family knows the cause but is now saying they will not discuss it further.
So, everyone who dies is tested for Covid. If they test positive, then no matter how they died, e.g. motorcycle accident, they get added to Covid deaths.
So why not the same standard for the Covid shot? Let’s count everyone who dies within a few weeks of getting the shot! For example, Hank Aaron, Larry King, Marvin Hagler, all died within a few days of getting the shot. How do they prove that the shot had nothing to do with their deaths? We are all serving as a lab experiment. And the Drug Companies can not be held liable.

Indeed, so safe that the FDA still uses the terms "emergency" and "experimental" in the authorization, and there is a lawsuit shield in place for the manufacturers.

Well, if you read the linked article you’d see that the father doesn’t want to go into the details of the autopsy findings. He’s entitled to his family’s desire for privacy which certainly outweighs your morbid curiosity.
There's no doubt it was her final shot.
The long-term effects of the vaccine are NOT known, and probably will not be factored into the premature deaths when they occur, caused by the rush to get the magic shot.
Cue the coterie of antivaxxers all of whom will say this is part of the conspiracy.
I am not an anti vaxxer at all. But my critical reasoning skills tell me there’s a whole lot to be concerned about with this ersatz vaccine. I won’t bother to list the items that make this thing dubious since I will be accused of being an anti vaxxer and a conspiracy nut.

You should realize that if it was wrong to count some deaths as being caused by COVID but that doesn’t make it right to classify all deaths following a vaccination as being caused by the vaccine.

Unless an actual cause of death was found, the family should get an independent autopsy.

Cue the ship of fools who will sat that there’s nothing to see here.
Except in this case there is literally nothing to see. The autopsy likely clearly have the cause of death and the family doesn’t want to share it. But that doesn’t stop people from trying to force an issue out of literally nothing.
