‘The death of someone that would have died within a few months anyway, is not anywhere close to the death of a 17 year old for example.’
watch out, you’ll be catigated by someone claiming to care for ‘all’ people, not just ‘productive’ ones...happened to me recently, though the guy knew precisely what I meant, and chose to be jackass about it...
Too late. I have been accused of that by people for years.
A few months ago I put the question to someone - “Which is more important, the life of a 4 year old or the life of someone 88 years old with health conditions that actuarial data shows has about 3 - 6 months to live?”
Answer: All lives are of equal importance.
My response: You are insane.
If you're out in public and discuss Covid, you never know who is listening that lost a loved one or had a bad case of it. After a year of this, everybody knows the elderly and people with health problems are the highest risk for bad outcomes. I am getting up there and I am in the danger zone by virtue of age. My elderly parents pretty much treat a new day as a bonus day. They take precautions, but aren't barricaded in their home.
