Not shocked.
Why?
Hypocrisy is real, not only in politics, but even in religion.
The son is 33. From the “feel sorry for me, my dad is mean” tone, I thought this was a kid. He needs to grow up. And what’s the rest of the story? What did Kerrion do or say to make his father that angry? And how come he doesn’t know where his family lives? Are they avoiding him?
being a Christian doesn’t make people perfectly sinless- being saved simply means a sinner is saved - they are still prone to sin- that isn’t hypocrisy- that is a perfect God accepting people just as they are, and forgiving them when they do sin because He forgives past present and future- The only way a christian can be a hypocrite is for them to preach nonsense, or to preach we are perfect while factually being imperfect- I don’t know of any preachers that preach that we are perfect, or even that we can be this side of heaven- The preachers i know all say we ARE going to sin- over and over and over again, but that God still accepts us as we are because we accepted His Son as our savior- -
Sounds like he needs a new kid.
Sounds like the kid is a bum, and Franklin tried to give him a kick in the butt.
I like a lot about Frankin’s music but don’t know a lot about him persobally, but I’m willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Without knowing the details, this story tells more like a slam again against Christians.
This is a father having an argument with his adult son. It happens thousands upon thousands of times a day in America. This is not news and it shows how far we’ve fallen that NBC News considers it a story worth their time. Just because it gets put on social media doesn’t make it newsworthy. How about some real reporting, NBC?
Whatever he did to anger his father, there’s simply no excuse for a grown adult, who claims to be a Christian to talk to their kids like that.
No wonder the relationship is toxic. I’m guessing this is not the first time the dad talked to his kids like that.
Sounds like the kid needs a new dad.
There could be a reason the kid was so messed up.
Another example of pisspoor amateurish, confusing writing. Done by an NBC writer, I assume, from the headline information.
NBC - Nothing But Confusion
How wonderful, oh holy one, do you have never lost your temper! I bow down to your superior self righteous perfection.
My guess is God has plenty of recordings of you losing your temper, and you were judging this and without knowing anything about what his son has done to him and his family is the same self-righteous hypocrisy we condemn and liberals. Galatians for joining the anti-Christian propaganda brigade.
It’s propaganda because blacks and liberals who talk like that will never get recorded, never get judged, and most important of all, never get pounced on by people who are supposed to have their back.
Never heard of Kirk Franklin, but he can put this story to rest by simply saying he’s moving from gospel into rap. :-P
Well played!
Everything about this situation is miserable, starting with “Kerrion is Kirk’s son from a previous relationship.”
Thanks, stone caster.
First, thank you for the short sermon, that of which I already know. That said, being a Christian does not, in no way, shape or form, remove someone from being a hypocrite or being ascribed as being a hypocrite. Hypocrisy is real, within both politics and religion.
