Umm, no, “Q” originally posted on 4chan, not 8chan. Plus, the 8chan account was hacked repeatedly because the dummies using it were using very weak passwords. So even if you were able to determine that someone was posting as “Q” on 8chan, that wouldn’t mean they were the original “Q” poster. Only someone who can access and post on the original 4chan account could actually be verified with some degree of certainty as the original “Q”.
Though there is pretty rock solid evidence as to who some of the people who were posting as “Q” during the 8chan era were.

Q posted original photos from AF1, Marine 1, FBI agents in London, Merkel and May at summer camp. Ron was the admin for Q, but it is a stretch to say he was Q. And why do “they” still care? Q hasn’t posted since December 8, 2020.
Q is Military Intel and I am getting ready to return from Saint Helena...

Yeah, the “original” AF1 photos I looked into, the ones all the Q fans were claiming as “proof” were just warped and photoshopped versions of publicly available photos from a Time magazine spread.
That’s not a proof, in fact it’s evidence that whoever posted them definitely didn’t have any inside access but was desperate to convince people that they did.

Yes, I think you are remembering Jack Posobiec, ran an interview with a notorious 4chan denizen named "Microchip" who claimed to have been the original Q. He claimed he created the persona with help from another online friend, and they produced the original Q posts for the first few months.
In that same interview he claimed that other board admins had taken over the persona and that he didin't know who the (then current) owners of the Q feed were.
Q famously transitioned from 4chan to 8chan a few months after it began, too. So, that somewhat fit with his story and timeline.
Microchip did not claim Q would stop now that he had told his story, in fact quite the opposite. He claimed that he had totally lost control of it to "admins" and that they would continue it for as long as they wanted to.
Most people felt that Microchip's story, and the evidence he provided, didn't hold up to scrutiny, and you don't get to be a famous 4chan denizen without creating some controversy. Microchip was already a notorious "sh*t-poster", as they term it.
So for every Q skeptic saying "see, we told you it was a LARP" there were 3 Q beleivers saying "yeah, and you fell for it".
