Argentina is a beautiful country. Their Andes mountain range beats our Rockies. Vast grazing ranges, great natural resources. It would be a great place to live except for the governments they elect.
I think the answer is “no”, it is NOT possible to vote out a left-wing government. The reason for this, is that, here in the USA, the left-wingers have the ability to control all elements of elections and vote-counting, unchecked. As long as this situation exists, they cannot be defeated. JMHO
I think the silver running out and the deterioration of Argentina’s relationship with Britain might have had something to do with Argentina’s decline too.
I was in Argentina from 2010-2011. Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner was (and probably still is) a murderous piece of, er, work.
And yet the voting cardinals of the Catholic Church thought it a brilliant idea to hire a Peronist as CEO in 2013.
No. The ghost of stalin helps to count the votes.
You can vote your way in, you have to shoot your way out. See: United States of America.
My predication: Biden’s ‘adventures’ will get us into a needless or avoidable spat with Russia and China and we’ll get a taste of a modern military (rather than a maternity ward). We’ll quickly back down, but with the world instantly realizing that we’re no longer king of the hill.
And with that crashes the dollar, and with that goes our standard of living. China will then rule, but on the good side, Western Europe will realize the days of playing stupid games regarding their national security (because big-daddy USA was always there for them) must now end, and they’ll actually improve their situation.
" ..the consequence of socialism, and of left-wing public policy more generally, is gradual relative economic decline.
Take a prosperous country (or state or city), then put in place the progressive policy prescriptions, and wait twenty or thirty or forty years,
and you will find a place that has been passed by by all the competition."
But why would the people give governing leftists twenty or more years if they are running the place into the ground?
The answer is that great promises are made of infinite government resources to solve all human problems; and special favors are granted to strong interest groups
like government workers and labor unions and subsidized corporations, who return the favors with votes.
Economic decline continues, but slowly, and the only way to perceive it is to make comparisons with other countries."
Then how does a country recover ?
How do you make up for lost time ? ..productivity ?.. personal awareness and growth ?
..or do you succumb to the tyranny of the State and depend on the State to provide all your sustenance, food, housing,.. or are you just another slave on the State plantation ?
