Senate Democrats cited a provision in the new stimulus bill to again call on Biden to cancel $50,000 in student loan debt through an executive order — despite the president previously stating that he would not do so.

"Student loan debt is crushing millions of Americans," Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) told reporters on Monday. "President Biden has an opportunity to fix that with the stroke of a pen. This bill helps pave the way to cancel $50,000 in student loan debt."

And they just keep on pushing and pushing, until there will be no more. And what about us folks that were responsible enough to acknowledge the debt we incurred and paid them? Do we get to go back and ask for a check?

At what point to 30-odd states say enough and just break away?

CornPop may have said that he wouldn't write-off $50k during the campaign but that won't stop him now. They think they've created a mechanism to do it by EO and they'll just put it in front of him where he will sign, as has no idea what he's signing anyway.

We can talk about Schumer, Pelosi, Feinstein, Harris, CornPop, China, Russia, NKorea, the tsunami of illegals coming over the border, refugees, visas holders, LBGTQXEIVJWS, teachers unions, radicals, progressives and their roles in destroying this country, but one of the most destructive forces in the country right now is the LIBERAL HIPSTER.

Do it! Pay off $50k of debt for the idiots with “gender studies” degrees. If that doesn’t enrage those people clamoring for $15/hr minimum wage, the country is too stupid to be saved.

I was just going to say “your gender studies degree will now not cost you anything. Which is fair, since it’s not worth anything.”

This would be only for those who have over 50,000 in SL debt. Those with less are on their own. This is my assumption.

I am morally opposed to student bailouts, they took out a loan, they need to pay it back or get some kind of debt forgiveness, why is that my problem I wonder?

CornPop said, during the campaign, it was the other way around. That he’d only agree to cancel $10k, but folks that went to Ivy League schools were on their own.

At a CNN town hall on Tuesday night, President Biden was asked if he supported the idea of forgiving up to $50,000 of student loan debt for individuals.

His answer: No. He supports cancelling $10,000 in debt, he explained. But he said he is wary of erasing big chunks of loans for people who went to Ivy League schools: “The idea that ... I’m going to forgive the debt, the billions of dollars in debt, for people who have gone to Harvard and Yale and Penn ...”

Instead, he explained, he’d rather use that money for other priorities, like early childhood education or making community college free.

It won’t. Americans in general just aren’t alert enough to care.

The real problem we have is a Leftist activist WH and Congress and a loyal media. Student loan forgiveness is just one of a hundred disgusting goals they share.

There is no “cancel”.
There is no “forgiveness”.

There is only transfer ... of debt.

In this proposed case, transfer from the consumer of the debt to the citizens of the US.

Unfortunately, I completely agree.

Stim 3 pkge includes provision that canceling student debt thru 2025 is not taxable. I think they will cancel 10k.

2/3rds of what the Federal Reserve identifies as its "assets" are the accounts receivable in the student loan debut. If it gets canceled, the "fed" loses any credible financial backing. The next step is loss of the US Dollar as reserve currency. We devolve into Zimbabwe/Venezuela/Weimar Republic status on our "currency".

That is a real kick in the teeth...

Those of us who PAID for every penny of our education beyond high school did so with AFTER TAX FUNDS.

This in effect is a GIFT to those loan holders....
