President Cloward, Vice President Piven
American Thinker ^ | 16 Mar, 2021 | Brian C. Joondeph

From COVID to electoral fraud to border chaos, Cloward-Piven reigns supreme in the era of Joe Biden.

Cloward-Piven is a political strategy of calculated chaos first described in 1966, by two Columbia University sociologists, Richard Cloward and Frances Fox Piven. Their theory was published appropriately in the far left The Nation, the oldest continuously published news magazine in the country. Cloward-Piven’s goal was the creation of chaos so that: “A political crisis would result that could lead to legislation for a guaranteed annual income and thus an end to poverty.”

The activities of the past year, from an imported Chinese coronavirus to a rigged and stolen presidential election are textbook Cloward-Piven, leading to a massive shift in the leadership and direction of America. We have gone to government by, of, and for the people to a tyrannical autocracy controlled by a small cabal of self-appointed elites.

Welcome to President Cloward and Vice President Piven, or vice versa for those who believe the current vice-president is really in charge, rather than the cognitively impaired president in name only.

Cloward-Piven’s objective is chaos and turmoil, or in their words, “A massive drive to recruit the poor onto the welfare rolls.” This is followed by: “A federal program of income redistribution has become necessary to elevate the poor en masse from poverty.”

Aaaah...the Cloward-Piven strategy of orchestrated crisis. That’s the second time we have fallen for that in the last three presidents.

“A pre-planned riot at the Capitol on Jan. 6 created a false panic and a rushed certification of the Electoral College votes without scrutiny or review, Congress rubber-stamping a fraudulent election. It had the bonus of allowing a bogus impeachment of President Trump, kicking a man already down as a giant middle finger to Trump and his millions of supporters.”

A generous application of common sense gun regulation is also in the play.
To stop “gun violence “ spit! The brain wash has another couple of generations to go on this one, but they would have you infer that the tenant of public perception is with and for their substance and in your best interest.
All of which is and is to be propped up by a house of cards, paper money fiat currency, Venuzalia here we come.
Interestingly spell algorithm won’t assist certain words , they use other search method history use in identifying threats they list.

Donald Trump was simply a speed bump on the Cloward-Piven expressway. He was supposed to blow up the road to serfdom but instead only slowed it down for a few years. The deep state won easily.

I wonder if Trump even stood a chance. Did he simply provide an opportunity for the deep state to test their new strategies of weaponizing the government against political opponents and rigging elections to the point that they are irrelevant?

Now we have rule, not by our elected representatives, but by a senile old man, signing elective orders put in front of him, orders created by his puppet-masters hiding behind the curtains.

Good points all

What do you think is the percentage of non-woke normals who know what “Coward Piven” is, or to what the same refers?

In this day and age, ignorance, acedia, anhedonia (such as lack of motivation or interest in doing what is necessary to taste true freedom or experience true justice or becoming truly knowledgeable about truly important things), these and other similar traits seem so deeply lodged in the hearts, minds, souls of do many of our fellow citizens. As obstacles to MAGA go, they must be among the most imposing.

I know I was taught to think and established an inquiring mind; I fear you may be correct: it is now easier to let others do your thinking. Of course the elite are sending their kids to schools that are supposedly teaching them to think; if Harvard economists are any indication, that is a failure also.

AOC graduated from Boston Univ and studied economics - knows nothing about that or much of anything else. I graduated from BU in '66 and told them at that time that they had failed to educate me.

The beat goes on. OTOH, many here on FR seem able to seek out answers - as you imply, there must be a concerned remnant.

Cloward-Piven tactics and deceptively sophisticatedly-named Critical Theory (i.e., the craven and sociopathic and anti-democratic “theory” that being overwhelmingly and, if necessary, entirely unfairly critical toward any given thing one dislikes can, over time at least, be sufficient to force a change in that thing or away from that thing) are two of the most brutally stupid but surprisingly successful (read:destructive) products of evil minds among U.S. “academics” during the past 75 years. Anyone associated with the Frankfurt School should have been shunned outright by self-respecting colleagues but were instead lionized. This country can barely wipe its own rear end anymore when considered from an academic standpoint.

I have read and heard about Cloward & Piven which means my knowledge is second hand. It seems they think the way to destroy freedom is to push entitlements to the point of collapse and then good riddance individual sovereignty. Apparently many people will fall for such simplistic ploys.

Certainly with the U.S. debt over $30 trillion and the 'rats intending to push it much higher, C & P may be right. I doubt the dollar can survive much longer and our countless enemies are poised to take advantage of that circumstance. This sop of a play pretty, a $1,400 'stimulus' check, seems to prove the point. We have mortgaged our great great grandchildren's chance at anything other than subservient poverty - a travesty.

The smug arrogance of those like C & P grinds my gears but they are apparently prophets for the pedestrian. 😬

Thanks for your thoughts.

Yes, Cloward-Piven tactics overwhelm its target through overuse (exploiting a weakNess or small feature in the system to cause the system to grind to a halt or fly out of conttol), whereas Critical Theory overwhelm its target through unstinting and brutal criticism that might sounds authoritative or seem to have at least a whiff of legitimacy but instead is purely politically motivated and designed to demoralize those defending the status quo.

Well put.

Perhaps another title for this thread could be President China, Vice President S0r0s or vice versa. 😬

Anyone striding forthrightly into the breach to call out and condemn the craven tactics and destructive goals of Critical Theory are asking for a bayonet charge coming their way. Only individuals with stout hearts like BOMOTUS can even think about doing this. Organizations like school systems led by people pleasers are sitting ducks. That’s how versions of Critical Theory like Critical Race Theory find their way into K-12 educational curricula.

Have you had personal experience with this? {It has been over 50 years since I was in a classroom}

Speaking of being taught to think, in the 7th grade I studied Greek and in the eighth grade I studied Latin - in a classroom with 4 grades within: 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th. I still read both, not really grammatically but I can recognize many of the words... dictionaries are handy if needed. 🤔

A public school district in Virginia is infected with brutally stupid Critical Race Theory. Vicious adherents are trying to make it a crime for parents to intervene against what their children are being taught by these stormtroopers. So what was described above is happening right now in a school district near you. Just because the Bad Orange Man says something is bad doesn’t mean it’s good, and vice-versa. That’s one of the tactics being used: “You don’t agree with the Bad Orange Man, do you? Because if you do. That makes you Bad, and probably a little bit Orange too!”

Case in Point:

Two members of Congress, both members of the House Armed Services Committee, have signed a letter asking the Navy to pull three books promoting identity politics and wokeness from its official reading list.

The books teach young sailors that they’re being asked to fight and possibly die for “a systemically racist country,” the lawmakers say.

The books—“How to Be an Antiracist” by Ibram X. Kendi; “The New Jim Crow” by Michelle Alexander; and “Sexual Minorities and Politics” by Jason Pierceson—are listed as part of the Chief of Naval Operations Professional Reading Program.

All Navy personnel pledge to defend the Constitution, yet these books portray America as fundamentally bigoted, Reps. Doug Lamborn, R-Colo., and Vicky Hartzler, R-Mo., write to Adm. Michael M. Gilday, who is chief of naval operations.
