Kary was my next door neighbor and a great friend, we barbequed a couple of times a week being two southern boys in La Jolla. A funny story, when he won the Nobel Prize the apt owners bought a new gas grill and put a plaque on it “In Memory of Kary Mullis Nobel Prize Winner” - Kary said “You do know I am still alive and it should say In Honor rather than in Memory”. Friends spent a number of weekends at his place in Mendocino, he was the nicest guy ever and absolutely brilliant. Faucci was the only person he ever railed against, so glad this came up wish it had been presented much earlier during this event exposing that fraud.

That is a great story and I appreciate you sharing it!

Last week I was feeling bad and had the “rapid” test done, whatever that is, and I got a positive. I asked the doctor if the flu would make the covid test show up positive and she said no. I told them to give me a separate flu test also, but I never heard those results after being told I was covid positive, and learning about the option of doing an antibody infusion right away.

Of course, a positive test sets many things into motion.....I had to inform my family, my workplace, my HR person. I have had to turn down side work. My wife was already scared out of her wits about catching covid......and suddenly she finds out she is living with someone who has been infected.

Then there is the wonderful feeling of suddenly becoming, essentially, a leper. No one wants to be anywhere near you, and I expect that may go on for much longer than the accepted return to service date which is one week from now.

I asked the doctor, and HR if I needed a clear test to return to work....both said no and explained that once you’ve had a positive it will likely show positive in later test. Said the antibodies would cause a positive test.

Here is how my symptoms progressed. On Tuesday and Wednesday of last week I did not feel sick, but I could not sleep either night. By Thursday I did felt terrible....headache, sniffles, kinda achy, but I figured it was from lack of sleep. Friday was a planned day off to catch up on side work, but Thursday evening I began feeling feverish. Friday was the same.

I agonized about wether to be tested or not, but finally decided to do it by the afternoon. The people at the testing center met me in neo-hazmat suits. I felt like the old survivor guy from the original “Andomeda Strain” movie.

During the testing another movie crossed my mind.....”Fire In The Sky”....where a man was abducted by aliens and subjected to painful, probing tests......ha! I never knew the nasal canal went that far into the skull. It hurt so bad it brought tears, and I wrongly assumed only one side would be probed. She did both sides and twirled that swab real good once it reached home plate. I still had a second round to go through with the flu test and it was much like the first.

Friday night the fever broke. I awoke Saturday morning practically drenched. Now I feel great except for a slight bit of bronchial congestion which is very normal for me, but is nontheless a little alarming from what I have heard about the Wuflu. A person about my age at our workplace evidently had it for a month.....and passed away.

Today.....day four since test....I feel ok except for minor sniffles and a bit of superficial congestion which seems normal. The antibody infusion option is available to me till Sunday. Its a two hour, experimental procedure. Sounds kinda freaky to me.....look what happened to the SS Minnow in two hours.

Sorry to write such a big reply to your reply, but I thought some might find the inside details of a covid positive test informative to a degree. I forge ahead aimless and bewildered. Did I just have the flu, or am I really a covid victim? The official record now says I am a positive case. My case will be added to the daily tally for our county....and as my doctor said when she came back with the results....”It’s looking positive and that’s a negative.”
