New Cases continue easing downward, with deaths dropping more sharply. Reported deaths yesterday (14 Mar) dropped all the way down to 589, from a high of 5,501 on 12 Feb (the daily average ran over 3,000 through January, and the first half of February).
Administration of J&J shots is still pretty slow - only about 100-200 thousand per day, despite delivery of 3.7 million doses. The effect of adding J&J has not really reflected much yet in the daily stats, as their retail operations are starting up. That should change soon, and more deliveries should hit this week.
Starting the week with a strong on hand inventory (26 million).
I'm hearing more reports of areas and providers loosening the eligibility requirements.
It looks like Pfizer and Moderna are the top choices. Johnson and Johnson looks to be a dismal nothing.
If and when I do get a vaccine it will be only after months and months of a proven solid effective track record. Which one will it be? That remains to be seen.
Is anyone really interested? If you took it, your cool and if you haven’t you’re either waiting or not going to take it. For what reason is there for posting running totals?

Some of the people here are involved in the vaccination program. This keeps them aware of the Nationwide big picture, and we also inform each other of, and discuss, supply and policy changes.
Many of us want to know when the lockdowns will end, to plan for our businesses and lives. These metrics allow us to make fact-based estimates.
Is anyone really interested?
Most days, there will be a few dozen posts, sometimes up to a hundred.
Who knows how many people read it? I try to make a quick and easy summary, so people can get a good feel for the current situation, without having to spend more than a minute or so.
A lot of discussion also comes up, between Freepers who are trying to schedule shots (how to), or have recently had them (discussing symptoms).
There are also heated discussions between those who oppose these vaccines, and those who support them.
COVID is really kind of a big thing in people’s lives, the economy, society and the World. These vaccines have the ability to force an end to it, as a serious public health issue. Important current affairs.

The others started slowly in the first weeks as well. I expect they will be making a more noticeable effect on the overall vaccine effort, this week or next.

For one thing posting the total number vaccinated undermines the anti-vaxxer propaganda that the vaccine is a poisonous concoction that will kill more than the virus. Over 109M vaccinated and the anti-vaxxers still can’t point to a single credible instance of vaccine caused death. Meanwhile over 500,000 are dead from the virus.

You're assuming you live in the same reality as they do. In their reality, the smallpox vaccine didn't cure smallpox. It was just coincidence that after ~3,500 years killing hundreds of millions of humans, smallpox just gave up and vanished in the same 10 years as the vaccination campaign. Ditto for polio. The vaccine didn't do anything. 5,000 years of paralyzing and killing children and that thing just got tired of being in any western nation and left. You know, right after the vaccine came out. But it still hung out in Africa... until the vaccine was given to them by western nations. Then it just decided to leave there too.
Whooping cough, measles, mumps, rubella, chicken pox, shingles... all the diseases that were around before vaccines, they all just decided to take a vacation. TOTAL coincidence that it happened one-by-one as vaccines were released for each.
So if you think there's any amount of evidence you can supply to counter their argument here? Clearly you need your Bill Gates vaccine microchip rebooted.

A lot of people who had the disease, experienced little to no symptoms. Many who had it early on, did not have access to tests to confirm it. Antibodies only remain in the blood for a month or two after infection - after that regular tests won’t show that they have had it.
The CDC has been running monitoring programs, to estimate the total disease burden, beyond what is confirmed by COVID tests. They have a monitoring program (seroprevalence survey) with big testing companies (like LabCorp) to randomly COVID test blood samples drawn for other routine purposes. They even have a program that measures the COVID levels in sewage.
They estimated that around 83 million Americans were probably exposed last year, so probably 100 million by now.
Other sources, like Dr. Makary of John Hopkins, who wrote an OpEd in the Wall Street Journal predicting herd immunity in April, use different estimation methods, to project that up to 150-180 million Americans were already exposed.
Some of those previously exposed folks have probably also received vaccine shots, so there will be some amount of overlap. But we are inexorably moving toward herd immunity, and the collapse of disease rates.
One good thing about immunity through natural spread, is that high contact individuals, who play a bigger role in spreading the disease, tend to gain immunity sooner than average.
One good thing about vaccine acquired immunity, is that it can be (has been) targeted at those most vulnerable - greatly reducing the mortality and hospitalizations that make COVID-19 a big problem.
As of this report, 64% of the US population age 65 or older, have already had at least a first shot. Hospitalization and death rates have already been dropping sharply.
In Israel, where they lead the world in vaccinating their population, new cases dropped 69% over the last week.
We are grinding COVID down. The end is near.

You will not be successful in deprogramming the anti-vaxxer cult members. By posting countervailing arguments you might vaccinate people against become members of the cult.
I just read a typical article lamenting the fact that a large number of teachers were experiencing reactions to the vaccine. What the article failed to note was the fact that the reactions (redness or tenderness at the injection site, fatigue, headaches, muscle pain, chills, joint pain, 14 mild fever.
Perhaps you notice that none of the recipients died as a result of taking the vaccine.
Oh, and one other thing, you left out the susceptibility of vaccine recipients to adverse affects trigger by exposure to 5G networks.
Starting April 5th in Michigan, all ages 16 years and older are eligible for vaccination.

They really aren’t that large a number but like all members of a conspiracy cult they believe they have an obligation to share their beliefs with all others.
If you notice, it’s the same posters in all the threads about the dangers of the vaccine reposting the same misleading information from the same small number of websites specializing in anti-vaxxer conspiracy theories.
It’s good to know what your State government knows.
Some people are still under idiotic restrictions and they’re watching the excuses fade away as more get vaccinated.
It’s also like a count down.......the more that get vaccinated, the sooner Covid retires into the history books.
