He’s not going to retire. Iowa is famous for electing politicians that have served past their sell-date. Terry Branstad has been Governor since 1983.
Just one of many Bush League Republicans that need to be replaced in 2022.
Murkowsky, Thune, Hoeven, Lankford, Lee, Scott, Moran and Rubio need to be replaced as well.
We will never Make America Great Again by re-electing Assistant Democrats.
And if Iowa has a rat Gov. when Senator Grassley croaks? There’s another Grassley in the statehouse. Same name but the stench of dynasty.
Another Bush League Senator among many. Too many, in fact.
Kim Reynolds has been the Governor of Iowa, since 2017.
Branstad does hold the record for having served longest as a Governor, but it was from 83-99 then again from 11-17. There were two Democrat governors in the interim.
Iowa’s election for Governor is next year. Kim Reynolds is popular and is a strong favorite for re-election. Iowa has been trending away from Democrats as fast as Virginia has trended away from the GOP.
Grassley is a useless, henpecked loser, who has no will to fight communists. Iowa needs a lion like Hawley in the Senate.
I guess Grassley like still having a seat close to the ‘fighting ring’. Okay. You had your time. Now kindly step aside for the next generation of republicans. I know it will not be easy, his weekly routine will be fully uprooted and torn asunder, but this should be about more than one man’s personal vanity.

Grassley’s feeble intellect was revealed for all to see during the Kavanaugh hearings, where he was being mauled by an only slightly less senile Feinstein. IMHO, were it not for Graham stepping up and acting as the defacto chair, Kavanaugh would have been defeated. Grassley resigned his Chairmanship, and should give up his Senate seat as well. We need sharp, patriotic minds with an America first mindset, not senile old men who no longer understand the world around them.
