Charlie Hebdo criticised for 'offensive' cartoon of Meghan
The Guardian (UK) ^ | March 13, 2021 | Mattha Busby

French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo has sparked outrage with a cartoon depiction of Queen Elizabeth kneeling on the neck of Meghan Markle, echoing the death of George Floyd.

The controversial publication’s cartoon comes after the Duchess of Sussex, and her husband, Prince Harry, told US interviewer Oprah Winfrey of apparent racism within the royal family, though they did not criticise the Queen. But Markle said courtiers refused her permission to leave Kensington Palace on occasion and that she once only left twice in four months, leading her to experience severe loneliness and suicidal ideations.

In the cartoon, published on Saturday and titled “Why Meghan quit”, the Duchess of Sussex is depicted saying, “Because I couldn’t breathe any more”.

Here's a little fun in how the European "Intellectual" Leftist Elite interact and "Report".

BLM can’t do crap in France, but the Muslims might contract with the Queen for a Princess or two.

Speaking of “lampooning”, Hebdo seems like the National Lampoon when PJ O’Rourke ran it, an equal opportunity offender.

A modified version of what I posted over at FARK.com (hence for a slightly different audience - please excuse that)

For all the “Je Suis Charlie” teeth-gnashing that went on for that all-too-brief period after the attack, in the long run, it turned out to have been a brilliant and decisive victory for the Jihadis, because it cemented within the western mind that the punishment for insulting the Islamic Prophet is death, no matter where you are in the world, and no matter whether or not you believe you have freedom of speech. With that one act, the tenor of the entire western Mainstream Media changed. Notice how much of the western media now refers to Muhammad (pbuh) as “Prophet Muhammad” (pbuh), with no qualifier, whatsoever, such as “The Muslim Prophet” or “The Islamic Prophet”. With this one act, the Western Mainstream Media has (out of fear of reprisal), effectively put themselves (and by extension, even secular consumers of such media), under Sharia Law.
No other religious figure (even of the other Abrahamic faiths), is treated with such deference in the (supposedly) secular, Western media. There is no talk about “Saviour Jesus” or “Patriarch Moses”, for example, outside of religious publications. Even non-Muslims such as myself have to be careful about how we state the name of the Islamic Prophet, and ALWAYS append “peace be upon him” (pbuh), lest we too be accused of Islamophobia at best, or Blasphemy (with associated penalty of death) at worst.

And no, for the record I have absolutely no problem, whatsoever with Islam as a religion, or with its moderate (and modernised) practitioners. (I know, live near, have gone to school with, and work with plenty of practicing, moderate Muslims), But I DO get tired of every single discussion about Charlie Hebdo that has appeared on (places like FARK) since roughly a week or so after the initial outrage over the attack died down, where the loudest and shrillest theme of every thread was that the folks at Charlie Hebdo “had it coming” for “Islamophobia” and “Insulting the Blessed and Beloved Prophet” (pbuh) of “over half of all humanity on this planet”.

The only thing I’ve gotten MORE tired of is how free speech and free expression has gone the way of the dodo. Now, it is very much: Free Speech for me, but not for thee!

Can't figure this one out:

If Harry and Megs gave up their duties, disowned his family and moved out of the country, then how can he still be a Prince?
Why is Meghan still called the Duchess of anything?

Can you run for President if you're a Duchess?
