Texas isn’t immune to the scourge of big blue cities in an otherwise red state. Eventually demographics brought to us by the cheap labor express and dimorat/RINO amnesty is going to bring on one party rule.
I fear the rot is in every state. Even in Oklahoma where every county voted for President Trump, we have crazies. Most are on OK and Tulsa counties. obama never won a county in OK in either one of his runs for President. They are inside the wire, as the saying goes.

Texas has blue counties and cities that plague us just like the other red states.
As for the “judges” that’s a hold over to the Frontier days when the only law in the whole area was the constitutional elected judge and constitutional sheriff. The judge is the constitutionally elected chief executive of the County there are the POTUS aka the chief executive l for that County they are by no means a trial judge and the most direct representative of the people who elected them.
Conservatives should applaud the system we have here where the two most powerful people in the local domain are directly elected by the people they represent. The sheriff is the chief law enforcement and the County judge is the chief executive officer both of them decide how to implement the policies put forth by the elected County board members and or council who serve as the legislative branch for the County. Trial judges are elected separately and have nothing to do with county judges.
Just because blue counties elect and leaders that’s on them. They got exactly what they voted for and in a couple of years can vote them out that’s the constitutional way to change the leadership.
