Ok, in most areas, giving human names to eagles stopped a few years ago. A male is now officially named M-xx, Female, F-xx. But of course the birds do not know the difference. It’s the bird watchers/photographers who get overly emotionally involved.
Believe me, I love birds, but when I see birders writing poems about the a pair of birds, or “grieving” like they lost a member of their own family when a bird gets eaten or hit by a car... yikes.
These are wild animals
Not people or domestic pets like our cats and dogs. So I’m fine w/this convention

I watch eagle nest cams from all over the US, and I think I enjoy them more when they do have names. There's one nest I watch where the mom is "Harriet," and the dad is "M15." Why name one and not the other? Name them all, dang it!
