I saw Hagler crucify Fulgencio Obelmejias (aka Fully Obel) in the old Boston Garden. Hagler punished him so badly it was at times difficult to watch.

Even though I was only 5 when Joe Louis fought Max Schmeling in 1938, in the following years it seemed almost as if I could actually remember listening to the fight...
Mainly because my parents, grandparents (and most Americans) listened to, and then talked incessantly about, that glorious fight for the next 20 years...
As kids, during WWII, you always wanted to be Joe Louis as you smacked one of your friends who you would call “Schmeling, the stinking nazi”...

Yes, he fought like a beast but many people forget that he was supremely skilled as well. I still believe that Roberto Duran as a lightweight in the mid-70s is the best fighter I have ever seen. Unfortunately, a lot of fight fans' impression of Duran was formed when he was past his prime and fighting as a little guy in higher weight classes. He was still a good fighter but not near what he was earlier.
no doubt..he was King of the Lightweights....but true...he moved up in weight and wasn’t as dominant...but still was a great fighter. When he quit against Leonard really hurt his rep...

I went with a buddy to Joe Frazier's Jim around 76 to see Duran work out. I watched him uppercut a sparring partner in the gut and lift him a few inches off the canvas. The guy stayed on his feet. I hope he was getting a decent buck for the total pounding he took.

My guess is that some type of serious financial crisis is going to come along. Those events occur with regularity but this one will be epic I’m afraid because there are too many distortions in the economy. There’s also a good possibility of an incident at a flashpoint that pits us against foreign enemies.
Democrats are good at manipulating things but they’re not good at managing them. They are basically agitators who refuse to acknowledge realities.
Whatever it is it’s going to be a national wake up call IMHO.
This warp-speed vaccine is the albatross they will lay around Trump’s neck. All planned out. DeSantis 2024...and he’ll lose to a ham sandwich. Don’t forget: the dems still count the votes.
