Far-Left City Of Evanston, IL Becomes First City In America To Give Reparations To Black Residents…But There’s a Catch
According to the 2019 US Census– 16.5% of citizens living in Evanston, IL, are black. The far-left city is set to become the first city in America to dole out $10 million in reparations—but there’s a catch. Not every black Evanston resident will qualify for the $25K payout. The money used to pay reparations to some black residents will come from a 3% tax on the sale of recreational marijuana.
Black leaders warn it’s not enough. Evanston NAACP President Rev Michael Nabors says the $25,000 payout is a “drop in the bucket.”
How long until every penny is squandered?
Dave Chappelle would know.

“Hide the money y’all, there’s poor people around........hahahahahahaha, wit’cha broke ass!”
Moving the goalposts as the argument about slavery falls apart when examined in detail.
You can't make this Mitt up...
Every former slave should be given reparations.
What’s that?
They are all dead? Every single one? And all their kids too?
Well that sucks.
Guess you guys should focus on getting a job.
Another question is whether the descendants of reparations-accepting blacks are in line for future reparations, or if a reparation payment ends it. Otherwise, it’s just another payment in an unending line of special treatments.
What they really want is black superiority forever—a sort of non-black racial dhimmitude.
April 19, 1775 – September 3, 1783
American Revolutionary War/Period!
When did the American Revolution end?
The Treaty of Paris was signed on September 3rd, 1783, by representatives of King George III including David Hartley and Richard Oswald and the United States including Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, and John Jay, officially ending the conflict.
The Headline should read “Far Left Crime Ridden City of Evanston” The City is a complete hell hole - worse than Gary, In Two people were gunned down in the middle of day last week - yes, the usual Amish suspects involved.
> Catch: Must prove you were a slave in the 18th or 19th Centuries... <
Ah, but this particular reparations bill has nothing to do with slavery. It’s supposedly meant to right previous wrongs due to city housing policies. That would be easier to prove than a slavery harm, but it’s a very slippery slope nonetheless.
Anyway, why should a marijuana user have to pay to correct some “harm” that he had literally nothing to do with?
> Black leaders warn it’s not enough.
Then cancel it. Is it even constitutional? What if someone identifies as black but has biological parents of European descent?
They should get nothing.
That’s the basic question: Reparations for what?
ROTFLMAO. If you aren’t in the illegal drugs business yet, you better get busy. The big bucks are about to start flowing.
A “reverend” bitching about “not enough” money. Whodda thunk.
They get the money if they renounce their citizenship and leave America forever. Otherwise they don’t get anymore because obviously living here isn’t as racist and terrible as they thought.
Of course there is.
Remember the saying that "the poor stay poor and the rich get richer?
How long will it be before the recipients of this $10 billion in reparations hand that money over to others, and the billions will flow to the rich while the blacks who received the reparations are back to having nothing?
-PJ
If you transferred all the money from the rich to the poor, the rich would get it all back.
I guess that the wealth transfer of about $40 trillion over the last 50 years is a drop in the bucket too.
“ Black leaders warn it’s not enough.”
It will never be enough. Never.
Bi-Racial gets half ?
When do I get reparations? I’m not black. But my ancestors can be said to have been exploited in God forsaken coal camps in Appalachia 100 plus years ago,. So if the issue is that people had ancestors who were exploited, many of us can say our ancestors were exploited in some way.
