A fitness-obsessed British man made his daughter sign a lifelong “contract” promising to never get fat — and weighed her almost daily as he ruled his family with an iron first, according to a report.
Rachid Khadla, 56, faces charges of child cruelty and assault over his alleged treatment of his now-adult daughter, Amira, and sons, Hicham and Karim, Hyde News & Pictures reported.
“I, Amira Khadla, will never let myself get fat. I will do lots of exercise to make sure I will never get fat, even until I die,” Khadla’s daughter wrote in her 2012 agreement, a court heard.

I think he had good intents, but lacked the skill to teach healthful habits.
Reading the article they really play up the father hitting the kids with a spoon. Either he has a thing for hitting his kids with spoons or there was one incident and the writers just kept repeating it.
The contract thing seems like a counterproductive method to me but is not abusive. I rather encourage fitness in the family in positive ways and avoid negatives except for having shared web pages a few times in the past with medical information about consequences of neglecting fitness.
Punching in the chest is certainly abuse, if it really happened. Allowing children to become obese often involves parental neglect.
I would say this contract lacks consideration and is null and void.
