I’ve always been impressed with how few indians and how little indian blood there is in my area of the North East. When I look at virtually all of central and South America, with the admixtured mestizos we all dread crossing the border, and the poverty of areas in the U.S. and Canada where there are reservations and diaspora from these reservations, I feel blessed to be in a mostly (until recently) European area. The only people I know with indian blood are a few roundabout migrants whose parents were “Okies”, then moved from California to the East, and a few deep woods Canadians.
