He was just turning his life around...
All 5 charged equally with 1st degree MS?
Was Stavian Rodriguez actually armed, or was he just suspected of being armed? The article is not clear about that rather important detail.
Continue to arm, practice, and train. Pretty soon there wont be any police to call. No one of good character will be willing to have a job where doing your job risks having your life ruined.
Society’s relieved of another criminal scumbag.
Waste of 5 cops, IMO.
Officers called for Rodriquez to exit the store which he did through the drive-through window while holding a pistol, the release said.
Very good questions the author never bothered to find out. Was he armed? Did he have something that could be used as a weapon? Did he comply or did he try to reach for a object that could be perceived as a weapon from the officers location/perspective?
All major details that don’t fit the narrative they want, IMHO.
Sounds like they all fired simultaneously which means they are saw the same threat at the same time in my opinion.
He was armed and was either juking the cops by acting like he was putting it down while not actually doing it - or was actually setting it on the ground, when all 5 officers lit him up.
At least that’s the way I read it in a different article.
Police said at that point he continued furtive movements, which they considered suspicious and led to officers opening fire.
Every officer involved in shooting is almost immediately identified, unless they are a capitol police officer, in which case they are never identified publically.
I spoke with a City of Atlanta cop a few weeks ago. They’re 20-25% under strength. The suburban jurisdictions will not render mutual aid due to the messed up legal situation with the prosecutors. I will not go into the city unless absolutely necessary.

On NPR Boston this AM.......a police honcho said approx. 2500 have applied to take the exam for police work in MA,in 2019:there were about 10,000.
And how many of those are applying for the opportunity to serve and protect vs the opportunity to ‘bust some heads?’
More info about the robbery and shooting: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.koco.com/amp/article/17-year-old-charged-with-first-degree-murder-in-connection-with-ocpd-shooting-of-stavian-rodriguez/35093052
Here is an article with details. The guy was bad news. I don’t feel sorry for him at all.
“Cheatham and Rodriguez then spoke briefly before Rodriguez reportedly retrieved a semi-automatic pistol with an extended magazine.”
Sounds like he WAS armed, dropped it but but kept trying to reach for it or something else. Something bad was gonna happen in that case no matter how you look at it.
