I remember this, only due to the fact that CNN turned into the missing plane network for months with all sorts of weird conspiracy theories.

I made a career out of going to sea... and I gotta tell ya... it is a “big O” and the sea more often than not does not give up the dead.
Somebody said in the initial phases and extended search for this flight that it was “something like looking for a needle in a haystack with the haystack being the size of Nebraska.”
