I like Dak, but you’re right. He’s a good player that got paid great player money. His career record against teams with a winning record is 6-20. Even last season while he was putting up huge passing numbers, his record was 1-3. Granted, he had an historically bad defense supporting him. But in the first half of games he started last year he had 4 touchdowns and 4 turnovers in the first half of games. They were usually down by multiple scores, which is why had had such high passing numbers.

Teams with good but not great QBs are in a tough spot these days. With not enough great QBs to go around if you dump your QB to draft somebody else you probably won’t upgrade. Meanwhile there’s tons of teams with bad QBs that would LOVE your good QB. So you’ve got to pay him like a great QB, or lose him and wind up with a bad QB. And it’s not like the rest of Dallas is any good.

You can’t fault him on profitability...as long as the fans and sponsors are happy...more power to him!

Jerry Jones is proof that PT Barnum was right.

Jerry makes money on Cowboys win or lose.
He’d like a Super Bowl ring, but he likes profit better.

I don’t think it will make much difference .... the NFL will soon be going the way of the NBA ... I doubt that they will be able to pay the salary.

They got value for the pick. I knew Jones would pay him the money. If he did it a few years back he could have been had much cheaper but he is smart and wants a short term deal. He will be able to cash in again when the cap goes up. All starting QB’s set a new record almost each time one is signed. Jones did this to himself by not signing him earlier. Give The Cowboys a Defense and they make the playoffs easy. There division is horrible. But can they win a Super Bowl is a different story. None of these players are worth the money. If they are willing to pay them then you can’t blame the players for taking the money. Dak is a good guy and pretty good player. But the money don’t match.

I love Russell but I’m afraid he’s going to pull a John Lennon/Yoko Ono being married to Ciara John wanted to explore his own artistic talents at the urging of Yoko and Russell thinks he wants to be a big name celebrity walking the red carpet with Ciara.

They will regret that deal. Neither Dak nor the Cowboys nor the NFL will ever come back to what they used to be.

So, the highest paid players are Prescott, Mahomes, and Deshaun Watson. Yep, Colin, the NFL is racist.

Not bad for a 3-* recruit who Les Miles recruited as a Tight End.

He’s already a big name celebrity, making 35 million a year. He wants to be on a team with an offensive line.

Jones is a clown.
The Cowboys may have won some more had Jones stayed out of the operation.
Dak has not won a damned thing.
