Historically it has ended up the responsibility of the people - The American Revolution, the French Revolution, the Russian Revolution. In terms of a coup d'etat, the usurping partisan group needs firm backing from either the military, the law enforcement organs or the intelligence organs; more than one is better. Of course the media is a factor but not decisive alone.
What the Dems, the DS and the globalists have done is meld all three in to this usurpation of our democratic republic. If efforts cannot tear two of them away then the correction falls to the people acting. Turkey presents an example; with the fall of the Ottoman Empire the military supported and sustained a secular government for nearly a century. Various attempts to establish an Islamic theocracy were set aside by the military to restore the secular government. What Erdogan did was to weaken the military's dominance in order to reassert the theocratic control of the state.
Here the planned coup covered all those bases, covered them effectively. I suspect this latest move to reorganize the military is in order to strengthen their grip on the nation. Observe the lengthening occupation of D.C. by the Guard, something the Pentagon worked to deny - refused - Prez Trump.

When the NG first came to DC, Trump was the one who ordered them to come, I read Sec Def Miller stating that it was President Trump who requested. And the situation in DC is that only the President can order NG there. I read quite a bit about it. He asks the mil and the mil agrees. So according to what I read, if the NG are (still) in DC, it’s either because Trump ordered them originally (and he’s still in power shadow-ly), or Bitem did. WHich I seriously doubt.\

I ran out of time last night to elaborate. First, any govt wishing to remain in power needs such support. Sometimes the relationship is cooperative and sometimes adversarial. Stalin never really trusted the military to the degree that he repeatedly purged the senior officer corps, even as he was entering war against Hitler. The Bolsheviks combined law enforcement organs with intelligence organs into the KGB; the KGB basically had two divisions - domestic political enforcement and foreign proactive intelligence. Also there was military intelligence, the GRU (which survives to this day), but their scope was relatively limited domestically.
Hitler distrusted his military; the result was an ever evolving power struggle with increasing division. Obviously Hitler's civilian law enforcement arm was the Gestapo. The intelligence organs were military intelligence, the Abwehr, and a confusing polyglot that was based in the SS with various subdivisions, including the SS-Totenkopf, in charge of 'camps', later included under the Reich Main Security Office (RSHA) and the Wafen-SS which tended to fill the political/military needs that Wehrmacht combat units did not wish to be involved in. As the Russian KGB kept a pervasive watch on the military, the SS and the Gestapo became Hitler's eyes. Wafen-SS would brazenly usurp Wehrmacht procedures at times, and on the spot executions of decorated combat officers were not unknown.
All of this to illustrate the manic determination to maintain control of the powerful organs of autocratic tyrannies. It remains to be seen how this current political reorganization in D.C. will develop. Naturally the Q factor introduces another possible element into an evolving situation.
