Thinking it over, I would guess it isn’t the text message itself they would be investigating but the potential crime of (in lay terms) intimidating a candidate for office. Just a guess.
he posted something years ago. A racist joke that was a little funny, pretty immature, and used the N-word. An opponent found it and he claimed he must have been hacked.
No FBI jurisdiction unless HE called them to say he was hacked. No crime was committed until he told them he was hacked.
He should have shrugged and said he was an immature 16 year old, or even said nothing. Maybe you lose the race, so what?
But when the FBI knocked, it shoulda been no comment.
