What’s the situation down there re: shutdowns, etc? I’m up here in upper/western NY. It’s very nice, not at all as imagined by those unfamiliar with the area. However it is still subject to the dictatorship in Albany as decreed by the country’s most disgusting governor. I am contemplating a weeks vacation in an area I can live a normal life for a week.....
For now, I would consider either Florida or Texas.
St. Augustine
St. Augustine
Saint Augustine Beach
I live in Bluffton SC, 90 minutes south of Charleston. SC is open. Stores require masks. Restaurants and bars require a mask on entry but you can take it off once seated. Life is pretty normal.
Charleston is a lovely city. Lots of history, great hotels, restaurants, museums and plantations to tour. Nearby beaches are lovey. Many good golf courses. There are several indoor and outdoor shooting ranges.
The spring weather in SC is the best, 75-85 degrees with low humidity. Come June the furnace is turned on and then it’s hot and sticky.
I would recommend Hilton Head Island as an alternative destination. That’s the area where I live.
Texas is full....even for visitors 😬
We’ve just went back to normal on allot of things. As of last Monday bars and restaurants can go back to closing at 2 AM. Still have mask mandates for restaurants when one is not eating or drinking and tables have to be 6 ft apart. Social gatherings are recommended at only half capacity.
If driving down be careful in Jacksonville. Some very bad interstate exits on north side of city
Good idea. I live in Texas. And I’m planning to go to Galveston in April or May. Not necessarily for the beach, but it is a beautifully historic city.
AVOID SAVANNAH, GA
Thanks for your help....I am well aware of google. We all know they direct you to info they want you to see.
I am looking for first hand accounts from people on the ground there....
50% black at the start of the civil war. Port was busier than NYC for some reason.
I visited about I years ago, only for a day trip as we were staying a week in myrtle beach. Would have liked to visit longer but I was lucky to drag the kids away from the beach for 1 day.
I’m looking for feedback on the medical-tyranny....
Cotton was exported from C-town. I read an interesting history of C-town. Prior to the Civil War, the two main concerns in C-town was fire and slave revolts. The city burned down several times. The frequency of slave revolts on the surrounding plantations was increasing. Prominent politicians had come to the realization that the slave dependent economy had to change. More and more share cropping was coming to be,
My brother and his wife spent about four days in Charleston three weeks ago. They ate out (the restaurant Husk is recommended) and had a good time.
Destin, Fl
Great beach......upscale, quaint shopping area....great seafood
St.Augustine.....great beach
Quaint ‘oldest’ city......lots of historical places......great food
Town proper is quaint and historical........
Busy shipping, cotton, tobacco, and other commodities to Europe.
I’m assuming you mean mandatory quarantine. There isn’t any.
It’s quite amazing how many New York license plates I see every day around here. There are a lot of NY refugees down here.
