The wolves will do fine. A few more calves will survive spring too. Next, year fewer permits. And in total, it's only six over the target of 200 since the tribes don't use their permits.

If they were able to have a wolf hunt every year (most years they have not because of near continuous lawsuits), they would have to harvest 200 a year for at least 10 years to get to the target optimum level of 350 wolves in the state.
