He offended the Queen. He must be made an example of.

I figured he would have made a deal by now. The feds own the entire system this guy will be persecuted in, and they have more than enough evidence to convict him in DC. Maybe he did this to attract a better lawyer. But no lawyer wants to be associated with "the insurrection" and risk cancellation.

Because he has symbolic value. That photo of him at Pelosi's desk was one of the more memorable photos taken that day, was widely seen, so they are making an example of him even though he probably poses a threat to no one.

Nancy Pelosi is one of THEM. She is IMPORTANT. The sanctity of her desk is more important than you or me.

He's right: following the law, there's low risk of flight and no danger to the community. He should be released.

When its a political prosecution, then you have no rights.
