The Left has thrown tantrums in the Capitol interrupting proceedings in Congress and even assaulted the Supreme Court after Kavanaugh was confirmed. Some were even invited to do so by Democrats.

Demonstrations outside is one thing. Trashing the building is another. Why should they be surprised when Congress and the courts throw the book at them.
