Please believe when I say, the best method of avoiding and fighting any respiratory disease (covid establishes in lungs first) is lots of aerobic exercise regularly.
I am not at all afraid of covid or any vaccine. My 80 year body is just too strong for those. But I took the vaccine because my wife is fighting cancer and I wanted to take every step possible to not passing on covid to her.
probably wise- they claim the vaccine will cut the ‘viral load’ IF you do get the virus, by like 40% or better- which apparently makes it far harder to pass to someone else- also, it will cut down on the severity of symptoms, so you’ll be less likely to sneeze, cough etc- which is two ways it spreads-

Your wife has my prayers for her to beat the cancer. But as far as why you took the vaccine, aren’t the same people who advocate for it telling us we still need to wear masks after taking the vaccine because we can still pass it on?
