Some zip codes, such as Chinatown, Beacon Hill and West Roxbury will have less exam school seats while other neighborhoods that are typically disadvantaged such as Dorchester and Mattapan, will get more.
But the lawsuit says the zip code quota system is “wholly-irrational” and states that it serves to “disfavor Asian and White students by decreasing their numbers at the Boston Exam Schools while favoring Latino and African-American students by increasing their numbers.”

Wow, another quota system being implemented by the leftists. They just never quit.
As I understand it as an outsider, that’s precisely what the exam schools were intended to avoid. So now admission based on objective criteria like exam scores is just too “inequitable” to the “disadvantaged” for the woker-than-thou crowd. I’m sorry, advantage looks a lot like self discipline and hard work to me.
If blacks ever get into study mode like they did in the 50’s,it will scare the crap out of dems....

I knew schools have exams. Now exams have schools?
This is another consequence of the false assumption that we live under, ie, "All races on the average are the same" The consequences of such a false assumption are that if one race performs worse than another in life, it must be due to one race oppressing the one that on average achieves less in life.
All the racial strife and self flagellation on the part of whites we see today can be laid at the feet of that false assumption.
This is a much more accurate view of reality.
I wish journalism students would study more. It’s ‘fewer’ exam school seats, not ‘less’ exam school seats.
If the Asian-Americans were not former southern slave-holders, they would not face the wrath of the “woke” crowd and have to pay reparations.

Yep. There are some amazing public schools that you have to take an entrance exam, The highest scorers get in. They go down the the test list until all seats are filled.

Why not? Seems to be the trendy thing to do these days.
IIRC, Boston parents were among the most vocal against the Scotus’ unconstitutional approval of busing students, based on their race, around for hours each way to and from schools.
That was fifty years ago.
We are not self-governing.
