Listening to Bloomberg’s Tim O’Brien, you’d think that Trump is another Al Capone, heading for a few years in Alcatraz.
Last week, the Supreme Court greenlighted the Manhattan District Attorney’s fishing expedition into Donald Trump’s tax returns for the past eight years. Trump, therefore, turned over a million pages of financial to the D.A. That’s good enough for the Trump Derangement Syndrome suffers to breathe new life into their Russia conspiracy theory.
Since 2019, when Robert Mueller admitted that Trump had not colluded with the Russians, Cyrus Vance, Jr., the Manhattan District Attorney has been trying to get Trump’s tax returns. The basis for this push was the vague claim that there was “possibly extensive and protracted criminal conduct at the Trump Organization.”
Of course, this isn’t how American law is supposed to work. Traditionally, the government first knows there’s a crime and then must prove it. What Vance’s office is doing is purely Soviet: They’ve got the man and now they want his taxes to prove a crime, any crime.
Still, Vance got a grand jury to demand Trump’s tax returns. As everyone knows, a prosecutor can get a grand jury to rubber-stamp anything he wants.

I think what they will lay out...he got great rate loans for deals, and will want to question him under oath how he got the great rates.
He might respond that he used the same ‘game’ that Bill and Hillary Clinton used for White Water property, and ask the prosecutors if that was illegal.

1. I would expect there is some sort of error or omission in them. Every tax return has some
2. Even with the above, it doesn’t matter. They are going to publish all his deductions and income to smear him.
It was never about that outdated word “law” it is about power.
The idea of law ended long ago.
If they lock up Trump all bets are off as to wether the rest of us continue to follow the rule of law. There will not be one Democrat official who will be able to walk the street.

In the fwiw department, 90% of CPAs (CMAs etc) couldn’t audit the Trump organization’s returns, and 50% of CPAs (etc) couldn’t accurately audit Trump’s personal or non profit returns.
So, this witch hunt will go on a long while with much disinformation and idiotacy.

Trump has been audited over and over and over again. But they’ll figure out a way to make him look corrupt. There’s no doubt about it.
I also think he should just leave the country and go and enjoy life. They’re obviously not going to stop until they destroy him.
You can bet that the IRS has been going over and over Trump’s tax returns for years, in an attempt to nail him. If there was anything, the world would have known about it.
