I like his books, I like the rhyming.. but some of them are political. I loved them as a kid but never read them as a kid thinking... “Oh I need to become a demonrat”.
Another minor thing in that vid, he didn’t live in the mountains.. the mountains of La Jolla? Maybe he had a home in Big Bear or Mammoth.

Just heard that a good friend has been hospitalized for COVID. He’s 89 so I’m concerned. Also his wife who’s 72 has started running a fever. Their names are Sharon and Bob. Salt of the earth folks. Can I ask you guys to offer up prayers for their wellbeing? Thank you!

There was a collection of his wartime cartoons published about ten years ago, and man, are they ever dreary. His editorial cartoons were decidedly left of center and frequently resorted to the old "fascist canard" (in that they deliberately and disingenuously fail to portray Hitler and Mussolini as the doctrinaire socialists they were).
