The problem here in Florida is the businesses that require masks. Most are optional or don’t enforce their mask code, but some like healthcare require it or they go gestapo on you. Had to get blood work at local lab, which was part of national lab chain and in my insurance network, carried a mask with me but didn’t wear it initially to the check in kiosk. They had a woman in full body haz-mat type gear with a mask then head face shield at the kiosk she was having a fit that I didn’t wear the mask up to the kiosk and she started to call personnel from the back so I put the mask I had on. Even though Florida is “open” all the healthcare related businesses are still in gestapo mask requirement mode. My FP doctor, who is staunch conservative, has mask wearing as optional in his office. It is still sheep named Chad and Karen wearing masks and necessary business requiring them in Florida.

Businesses are strange in PB County ... I’ve somehow yet to meet a “Karen” or “Chad”, and lately in the stores where masks are required, I’ve been wearing mine below my nose (even though it’s not real, but only screen mesh to begin with). I’ve noticed a lot of people doing the same thing, especially people my age and older. Although there are those die-hards who wear them everywhere, even in the parking lot and car. I notice so many of the die-hards are millennials, though. That’s disturbing.

In my neighborhood, you’d never know people ever wore masks, except once in a very very great while. (Then we point it out to each other, “Oh look, somebody with a mask!”)

Same in California. I called to make an appointment with a dentist of whom I’d heard good things. I was proudly told that the office practices double-masking and that I would be supplied with them if I did not arrive with both in place.
