With white residents more likely to live past the age of 75, more likely to be digitally literate, more likely to be proficient in English, more likely to own a car, and more likely to have flexibility in their jobs, Chang-Diaz says it’s clear who is getting those advantages in the state’s vaccine rollout.
“You could not find a more textbook case study of structural racism if you tried,” she said. “Eight months after George Floyd, nine months after watching COVID rip through Chelsea and Dorchester and East Boston like they were foreign countries … when will we learn this lesson?”

Okay, I clicked on the article and read it.
Nowhere id she explain how racism caused any of the particulars of which she complains.
Blue skies with WHITE clouds are RACIST!
Racism Racism Racism Racism Racism Racism Racism Racism
White Supremacy White Supremacy White Supremacy White Supremacy White Supremacy White Supremacy White Supremacy
Yawn- The false accusations are getting old, liberals!
Yeah this chit is getting pretty boring..fast.
In a state government owned by the Democratic party, who are the "racists" making decisions?
Milk is racist because it’s white. Chocolate Milk is racism because it patronizes blacks. Milk mixed with chocolate milk is Uncle Tom milk.
They can have mine.
it would only be ‘structural racism’ if the progam weren’t voluntary. But the program is voluntary. So he’s talking out of his hat
IF minorities aren’t showing up for the jab and white people are, I’d say that’s a messaging problem that started with Kamala Harris and Joe Biden expressing doubts about vaccine safety and continues with politicians who are not communicating effectively with their constituents
What did you expect, coherency and intelligence? Remember, this is Massachusetts where “facts” and/or the “truth” has never been a prerequisite for any Democrat or demagogue.
How can racism stop anyone from being proficient in English?
and more likely to have flexibility in their jobs,
How would you even measure that?
According to U.S. Census data, Black residents make up 9 percent of the Massachusetts population, while Hispanics make up 12 percent. However, according to the state’s weekly vaccine report, 5.1 percent of the first-dose shots administered in Massachusetts have gone to Black residents and just 4.3 percent have gone to Hispanic residents.
I don’t know about Massachusetts specifically but many states have given healthcare workers first dibs on the vaccines because they are considered at higher risk. After healthcare workers they are giving it to the elderly and those in nursing homes.
So, I don’t consider these low numbers for minorities as indicative of racism but indications of this being early in the distribution and as indicative of minorities not going in to the healthcare field in great numbers.
It could also be indicative of minorities not seeking the vaccines or not trusting the vaccines.
Most of the minorities I see in public are walking around with smart phone and fooling around with apps like Twitter, Facebook and other social media, so how does that equate to not being digitally literate?
Chang-Diaz should have continued: "...more likely to live responsibly, more likely to not have a prison record, more likely to live in intact families..."
“You could not find a more textbook case study of structural racism if you tried,” she said.
Hey, have they already abandoned systemic racism? I had thought that there was still a lot of mileage in that.
Regards,
Mix equal parts of white and black and you get grey. Boring, but does work with many home decors. See, we can live together. Ha!
Well - it seems the adage YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW is finally here. When entities push for BS programs like Ebonics, no-testing, social promotion, etc — one can see why there is a disparity among certain groups.
Those who promote such programs are blind to what they have brought and therefore have to blame everyone else via the race card about what a dismal failure they are.
If that is the best case for structural racism, then it doesn’t exist.
“With white residents more likely to live past the age of 75...Chang-Diaz says it’s clear who is getting those advantages in the state’s vaccine rollout.”
I thought the name looked familiar. Her father is a plasma physicist, former astronaut, and the kind of person forever thankful to have emigrated to the US (and also a national hero in Costa Rica).
This is a classic case of ‘being too busy’ to properly raise your kids, which seems to a real problem with conservatives. She’s pathetic. It’s better for our side to not even have kids, if we’re going to let the state raise them.
Three guesses why MA has been losing House seats, eh..
All the whining and excuses made stem from envy and insecurity.
If one doesn’t have an answer to anything always use the structural racism card.
