Why one Massachusetts lawmaker says the state’s vaccine rollout is a ‘textbook case study of structural racism’

With white residents more likely to live past the age of 75, more likely to be digitally literate, more likely to be proficient in English, more likely to own a car, and more likely to have flexibility in their jobs, Chang-Diaz says it’s clear who is getting those advantages in the state’s vaccine rollout.

“You could not find a more textbook case study of structural racism if you tried,” she said. “Eight months after George Floyd, nine months after watching COVID rip through Chelsea and Dorchester and East Boston like they were foreign countries … when will we learn this lesson?”

In a state government owned by the Democratic party, who are the “racists” making decisions?

Minneapolis, MN, where St. George Floyd died, has a democrat mayor, something like 9 democrats and one green on the city council, and a state government with a democrat governor and democrat attorney general, but Floyd’s death was blamed on Trump and Republicans. So the answer to your question is obvious—Republicans!!

I work in dorchester... this is nonsense. COVID assistance and outreach have been a staple of local leaderships focus in the area. It did not “rip” through these places. My wife’s an RN in Boston. We had cases like everywhere else but just stop. The ball was dropped with the vaccine rollout but this seems like pure ineptitude not racism, sorry
