DeCaprio deserved an Oscar for "The Revenant" (and others) like Brad Pitt deserved it for "Fury". Politics infects everything - it's the human condition.

Quentin Tarantino is a unique animal. Fantastic director with great artistic vision, he gives in to his inner liberal and white self-loathing too often - thus removing himself from the halls where Ford, Capri, Peckinpah and DeMille reside as the true greats of all time. Just a tad more self-discipline could get him there.

But he's still young and the jury's not out yet. I'd like to see "Where on my starship did you see a sign saying dead Klingon storage?"
