I see coyotes often, most of the time mangy-looking and scrawny.
But one day riding my bike through a local woods, I thought it was a German Shepard on the trail?
As I came closer, it was a coyote; beautiful fur, full and muscular looking and it had a cat in its mouth!
This one apparently tapped into a special food source?
We have coyotes in the Maryland suburbs of DC, now.
We first got them in Western Maryland back in the 1970s, but now they’re all over the state.
This was taken in a residential area of about 40 smaller acreages. There’s a highway about a 1/4 mile away that provides a supply of hit deer who make their way into the yards. We’ve also had bobcats and a mountain lion sighting.
Now we’re seeing a lot of bald eagles.
