Hard to believe our beloved Rush has left us. I wake up everyday looking forward to him only to realize he's gone:-(
RIP ole boy. We will never forget you.
My Dad died from a bad fall when he was 92. He smoked camel non-filters for many years. There was an open pack of camels next to his chair when he died. During one of his physical exams, the Doctor complimented him on his clean lungs because he didn't smoke. He laughed and said "I've been smoking since I was 12 years old".
We will be listening to Rush and laughing at his antics, then a sudden sadness comes over me, I remember he is gone. I wonder if he is entertaining everyone in Heaven!!!! I would think so!
We all have to choose which dangerous things we want to take part in. Smoking, riding in a car, boating, skiing the mountains, etc. Everything has a risk. One time Rush said if you eat apples, you will die.... (someday) it was a great show.
What is the benefit vs risk?
Great way to put it.
I remember exactly when and where I first heard him. My neighbor was helping me “fix” my computer. She is a computer wizard. She told me about Rush and showed it to me on radio. I was hooked. Not to be outdone, Tyrelle showed me Rush tv show. Years ago. I had a reason to get up in the morning.... Then he stopped the show. His radio show gave me a reason to enjoy Monday - Friday!!! Now he is gone. RIP fine sir. You are loved and missed.
I finished a quilt the day he died, and I always name my quilts. This one is “Loveable Little Fuzzball”.
How did you listen to him if he was on 12-3? I could listen to him if I was driving for a few minutes during lunch or if I was unemployed. I was only able to hear part of his show.
Rush often said that he wasn't going anywhere until everybody agreed with him.
I'm positive everyone who made it to Heaven agree with Rush.๐๐๐๐
Interesting that you posted the Jesse Waters link. I remember Rush speaking highly of him a few weeks ago and saying something like Jesse being part of the future for conservative thought, hmmmmm. He is creative in thought and bold in what heโs willing to say. I wouldnโt be surprised if someone like him has been chosen as a successor.
Big, lit billboard sign on I-10 Katy, Tx. Picture of Rush and message of RIP.
I completely understand. God bless you. God bless all of us.
I am so glad you said this. I was NOT a devoted listener for years and only tuned him in here and there in any given week, although in the 90s, I listened pretty regularly, but the past week, I have found myself getting very emotional listening to his voice as the guest hosts are playing old clips. It’s devastating. I think many people really stayed informed by listening to him alone and I can’t help but wonder if some of these folks will drop through the cracks now. Also, I wonder about all of those people who will NEVER be converted, because many were changed by listening to him.
He be dead? Get over yourself.
Rush was a longtime cigarette smoker and I have a hunch that THAT may have had much more to do with it.
I agree!! That’s when I was listening to him all the time. American held hostage! Rush was always such a riot.
I’m going through the same feeling.
That was quite a long time ago though wasn’t it? I remember him always saying “formerly nicotine stained fingers” as far back as 1992 when I first heard him.
I almost forgot about that. “Day 1,362 of America held hostage”. lol
I would like to hear historical snippets from his show, something like the wisdom or philosophy of Rush Limbaugh on Friday. Much of his appeal is timeless.
My mother had a great fear of tornados and bees. She never even came close to experiencing a tornado and was never stung by a bee (although she ran into the street to avoid one and could have been hit by a car). But she smoked 3 packs of cigarettes a day, which had a real threat of killing her, which they did. She died of lung cancer on Christmas morning 1992 at age 65.
