I recently watched a TV documentary about Motown. Barry Gordy and Smokey Robinson, among others talked a lot about how music is truly colorblind and how they were able to use their music to blur the racial lines.
I agree wholeheartedly. I love 70’s R&B and how radio stations made it a point to play crossover music.
I once read a story where Wilson Picket called a music studio and told the owner he wanted those funky black brothers to back him up. The owner said those funky black brothers are awfully white but would be glad to play the sessions.
Then there’s Stevie Wonder. All race all the time. “Music is a world within itself, with a language we all understand” Apparently he doesn’t believe his own words.
Well, bye

I’m reminded of an SNL skit he was in years ago...
“I wanna see this nation smile again,”
“And I want to see it before I leave to travel to move to Ghana, because I’m going to do that.”
When asked if he plans to relocate permanently, the star replied, “I am, because I don’t want to see my children’s children’s children have to say, ‘Oh, please like me. Please respect me. Please know that I am important. Please value me.’ What kinda [life is that]?”
Oh say can you see, Stevie???

“I wanna see this nation smile again,” he told Oprah, 67...’
wouldn’t that be rather difficult, in his particular case...and why is Oprah’s age of any value to the story...?

The open hostilities and racism against whites is spreading like a virus.
Yeah, that's healthy for our nation.

"...It is painful to know that needle has not moved one iota. For 36 years, we've had a national holiday honoring your birthday and principles, yet you would not believe the lack of progress..." Really.
"Not moved one iota". Really. Well, Stevie Wonder really showed a lot about himself with that one quote.
None of it good. Just sounds like another racist.

Nice now but so was Burkina Faso until the Muslim terrorists started moving in. You won’t like it when they come to Ghana next.

Trouble is, Stevie will be going to a region of severe ethic repression and terrorist murder. Wasn’t that what he says he wished to escape? Ghana may not be Cameroon, or Nigeria, but it also is not he United States of America. But, then again, the Fascists under the Oligarchs have taken over here, so Bon Voyage, Mr. Wonder!
