Can’t stand the guy
For those interested, Amazon prime video has a bunch of documentaries about specific albums under the umbrella name “classic albums”.
I highly recommend searching it. They cover the album, track by track, and even use the multitrack mixer to remove or solo instruments. It’s quite interesting.
The one on Don McClain’s “American Pie” was amazing, and I expected it to be boring. And Bat out of Hell was a favorite.
He truly rolled up like a douche in the middle of he night. ( I know, different , and better, song)
I always hear “wrapped up like a douche”.
Damn! Now I have that song in my head.
No one cares
He was blinding by the police car lights.
I guess things went over my head.
I remember Manfred Mann’s version of it, and at that age I frankly didn’t understand the lyrics, or the symbolic hidden meanings.
I like Springsteen’s first 4.5 albums. Things started to go awry about halfway through The River. Since then, he is mostly really bad. He’s fake Americana for fake Americans.
"Blinded by the light, wrapped up like a douche, you know they rolled her in the night."
He went out for a ride and he never went back
Sooooo tired of this pain in the a@@ constant fe- male nag.
The “concert” for obamaumao inaug... the “saviour of our nation” love fest he gave (total utter BS) with... the Card Carrying Communist... Pete Seeger. That did it for us— what a waste of opportunistic fakea@@ air.
Typical jersey shore jerkin pork.. jerk. A lifetime of it from his “free” asbury park “album”. If one wants a rock icon and have them be demonrats, at least make them Southern. Like the Allman Brothers Band (both Allmans from Nashville originally by way of Capricorn Records in Macon, GA- creator of several other legendary and highly talented performers and players).
Another way to look at this clownsteen is to see him trying to upstage Roy Orbison. didn’t work out well- Roy being a giant of a writer and performer. “Any thing you want— you got it!”.
Well said.
Springsteen strikes me as a deeply unhappy and misanthropic person.
I’m still glad he was arrested for DUI, even with the charges now dropped. Gave him a taste of what his hated enemy Trump went through with Mueller.
He’s doing political hack propaganda with Obama.
He is part of the junta.
I haven’t been a Springsteen fan in a long time, but “New York City Serenade” is a masterpiece and “Racing In The Street” is one of his best.
He’d probably agree with you wholeheartedly on that.
There’s a cure for that. Play in your head later less catchy lyrics of the same song.
snip-
“If you’ve had enough of your earworm and need to stop it in its tracks, you would be well warned not to try to block the song out, but rather to passively accept it. A determined effort to block the song out may result in the very opposite of what you want. Called “ironic process” and studied extensively by psychologist Daniel Wegner, resisting the song may make your brain keep playing it over and over again.
Some people try to distract themselves from the song, and it works. In one study, the most helpful “cure” tunes were “God Save The Queen” by Thomas Arne and “Karma Chameleon” by Culture Club. Others seek out the tune in question, because it is commonly believed that earworms occur when you remember only part of a song; hearing the entire song may extinguish it.”
