Earlier this year, Cadbury released an advert to celebrate the Creme Egg’s Golden Goobilee aka, our favourite fondant-stuffed egg’s 50th birthday. The advert showcased a number of different ways to enjoy Creme Eggs – you can lick them, bake with them, dip them, and share them. But unfortunately, the final option has offended a number of people and a petition has been launched to ban the advert.
In the advert, real life couple Callum Sterling and Dale K Moran share a Creme Egg by both biting it at the same time. But because Callum and Dale are gay, 25,000 people have decided the advert should be banned.
The petition to remove the advert says: “By choosing to feature a same-sex couple, Cadbury's are clearly hoping to cause controversy and escape criticism, by claiming that any objections must be rooted in 'homophobia', but members of the LGBT community have also expressed their dislike of this campaign.
“Cadbury's should not be seeking to hide under cover of LGBT rights to conduct a campaign which sexually objectifies individuals. If the couple in question were heterosexual, the advertisement would likely be prohibited, given the sexually explicit and graphic nature of the kiss."

I think I had that as my tagline for a while.
I’m probably a 1%-er too
Why would you make your girlfriend Rick?
Everyone hated that pratt LOL, the others all had principles.
I didn’t make her, she volunteered. 8~)
It’s not about appealing to gay customers when it comes to these ads. It’s about appealing to the large number of women that see a gay couple and go, “Aww. How sweet.” And since women do most of the shopping... you get the idea.
Problem here is that seeing two people share food between their mouths is physically revolting even for those that wouldn’t be offended by seeing two men kiss. And it’s entirely too sexual and thus inappropriate for an ad for Easter candy. Cadbury made a poor decision then cried “homophobia” after predictable backlash. Blech.
The same reason so many are ads are steeped in blacks and interracial. It's called virtue signaling. The odd thing is that they are driving away more customers than they are attracting. For example, Cadbury products are now on the growing list of items which won't be found in our house.
Gets me that almost no business school will be able to accurately cover this and other related subjects without being stopped ASAP.
Why do women empathize with gays?
Can you really kill yourself with laxative pills?
A crappy way to go..
They gotta front for Moloch, so when some ghey at Cadbury's sues for being stereotypically lazy fruity know-nothing, Cadbury's can practice some jury nullification -- 'hey, we're pro-ghey, we ran the gheyest ad you have ever seen!'
It's literally 'best practices' now at brand marketers.
LOL
Get woke,go broke.
Now even the left is not satisfied
A few years ago they would have been fawning at how ‘brave’ they were for featuring a gay couple.
I bet sales are not good...
Funny how ?
They went too far. So are others.
They are wrong and will get all the negative I can offer.
I will never again buy Cadbury Creme Eggs!!!
FMCDH(BITS)
It’s a British slang expression meaning to kiss.
